yeah don’t think that this can’t happen to you or someone you know if they’re young. my cousin’s wife is 33 and she had a stroke last year

I’ve had a stroke. It happens to people, and the more you know about this kind of stuff, the better.Because it could be important to know.

I witnessed my grandma’s friend having a stroke in 6th grade. She was sitting on my great aunt’s couch watching Maury and she went to raise her hands to clap in laughter and couldn’t. She panicked and said she couldn’t feel her left arm. I, of course, had no idea what was happening and why she couldn’t move but I got my great aunt and they called 911. She wound up being okay but ever since then I connect strokes to her and how scared I felt witnessing her debilitation.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Remember the ‘3’ steps, STR . Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster.
The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions :

S * Ask the individual to SMILE ..
T * = TALK. Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (eg ‘It is sunny out today’).
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS .

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call the ambulance and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

NOTE : Another ‘sign’ of a stroke is
1. Ask the person to ‘stick’ out their tongue.
2. If the tongue is ‘crooked’, if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke.

The community farm stand down the block from where I live is only open on Saturday morning. This morning, I put on jeans, a t-shirt, and sneakers, and some lip gloss. I did not want to put my contacts in so I left my glasses on. I just shaved my head yesterday (like I do every two weeks). Usually, I try not to wear my thick black rimmed glasses when my head is freshly shaved because the contrast makes me look like I am bald and I don’t like to wear earrings when I am wearing glasses. I drove to the store to get some cash, parked, and then walked to the stand. As I was exchanging money for produce, I noticed that this photographer taking a picture. I have seen photographers taking pictures there before but I thankfully avoided them. I gave him the side eye and kind of moved out of the shot. As I was walking away, he and his friend quickly walked over to me and introduced themselves. They were taking pictures of and/or writing an article about sustainable farming for some paper in Finland. He asked me for my name and also about my impressions of the farm. The photographer said he would send me a copy of the article because it is not an online paper. And then he asked if he could take a shot of me walking home with my produce. I was laughing so hard because had I known my picture was going to be taken, I would have worn something else. This is what I told him but he was insisting that I looked fine. He was taking all these shots from multiple angles and in different lighting like it was a for real photo-shoot. I don’t think I smiled with my eyes but my dimples were popping.  I was glad I had the sense to at least put on some lip gloss this morning. If they use my picture, I hope they do not write some bullshit caption like Negro girl buying groceries underneath my photo.

Charles Henri Joseph Cordier

Cordier was born in Cambrai. In 1847, a meeting with Seïd Enkess, a former black slave who had become a model, determined the course of his career.

His first success was a bust in plaster of a Sudanese man “Saïd Abdullah of the Mayac, Kingdom of the Darfur” (Sudan). This was exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1848, the same year that slavery was abolished in all French colonies. It is now housed at the The Walters Art Museum.

In 1851, Queen Victoria bought a bronze of it at the Great Exhibition of London. From 1851 to 1866, he served as the official sculptor of Paris’s National History Museum, creating a series of spectacularly lifelike busts for their new ethnographic gallery (now housed in the Musee de l’Homme, Paris).

Cordier took part in the great works commissioned by the Second French Empire (Paris Opera, Musée du Louvre, the Hôtel de Ville) or by private interests such as Baron de Rothchild. He died in Algeria.

Blind Racism…When will you see beauty and not skin color.

I found this discussion through a friend on my fb. She pointed out how many men called this women unattractive..then went on to make disgusting comments.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder…so while some will find her pretty some won’t. But that’s not the issue here.

The issue is cunt bastards saying she’s ugly ONLY because she’s black. She has a pretty figure from what I can see of her, pretty eyes, and lips most women pay millions for!!!

Oh…and of course most of the girls on this facebook “smash or pass” page are white and skinny. Most of them blonde.

I think all women are beautiful no matter hair and skin color….in this society that probably makes me sound like an alien or something.

Here are some of the comments.

:DISCLAIMER:

I am not blocking out the men/women names since they felt the need to make these statements on a public network to see them. Any consequences these people face I am not responsible for….and let the shit fest begin….

AND

The way white people define racism makes no sense. With racist white folks, it is like opposite day all the time. They said black people are only 3/5ths human. Science says Africans are the only full humans because everyone else has at least 4% Neanderthal genes. They laughed at the shape of our bodies and then created a bustle. They say fair skin is beautiful and then roast themselves in the sun. They say the built the pyramids, but never took the time to build one on their own continent. They say black folks are violent criminals when white hegemonic psychopathic culture is the most violent of all. They say black women are unrape-able whores, their founding fathers are racist, rapist, pedophiles who lusted after men and women they did not even consider to be human. They say they cannot stand black people but are obsessed with imitating us. Idiots. “For a black chick, I’d smash.” Bitch please. They write as if this woman would even give any of them so much as a side eye in real life.
